Monthly Workdays Continue
Pu'uhonua o Wailupe had our monthly workday on May 31, 2026 after the storms and flooding the grass needed cutting. We planted a wiliwili tree on Wiliwilinui ridge. Volunteers ranged from 4 to 50 years. The work continued till sun down ending with awa and sharing of stories about the sacredness of the area and struggle to protect this place and our iwi kupuna.

Kaiser Juniors Visit in Spring
In February, 2026, Pu'uhonua o Wailupe was proud to host our youth and share the mo'olelo of this place we love so much. This was an amazing day as we expanded our work further up Ma Uka and taught our youth how to respect the final resting place of our Kupuna (Elders).

December 1, 2025 Workday
We wanted to thank all the volunteers who have given of their good spirits to care for this sacred place we call Pu'uhonua o Wailupe. In addition to cutting back the tall grass, removing invasives, fireproofing, planting native and canoe plants, we are building community.
