Lā Ho'iho'i Ea

Pu'uhonua o Wailupe put together our first educational booth at the Lā Ho'iho'i Ea (Hawaiian Sovereignty Restoration Day) held on Sunday, July 30, 2023. About 4,500 people attended this Hawaiian Kingdom holiday celebration on the sacred grounds where the Hae Hawai'i (Hawaiian Flag) was raised and Hawaiian Kingdom sovereignty was restored 180 years ago. Our Board Secretary was honored that morning with the Koani Foundation Hawaiian Kingdom Patriot Award, and our Director received the other Patriot Award on behalf of Nate Yuen posthumously.
